The "Hands of Uruguay" is a non-profit organization that is a member of the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO). The project supports women who live in the countryside so that they have a local opportunity to earn money and stay with their families instead of having to move to the slums of Montevideo.

The women only dye to order and can therefore keep the financial risk low and secure their income.
It is not only important for women to earn money locally, but also to get in touch with other dyer women and, last but not least, to strengthen their self-confidence.
